If you’re taking the train, minimal walking is required — just be comfortable walking for an hour or two with stairs and uneven paths.
For treks like the Inca Trail or Salkantay, you’ll need to be in good physical shape. These involve high altitude, several hours of hiking, and steep sections. We always brief you in advance and can help you choose the right tour for your level.
For last-minute trips, the 2-day Machu Picchu by train tour is your best bet. We depart daily from Cusco and always keep a few spaces for last-minute travelers.

Dry season (May–September) offers the clearest weather and best hiking conditions. It’s also the busiest, so booking ahead is recommended. Rainy season (October–April) is greener and less crowded — just pack a rain jacket. Machu Picchu is open all year, and we operate tours in every season.

Yes. Our 1-day Machu Picchu tour by train departs early from Ollantaytambo and returns the same evening. We handle all transport, including your transfer from Cusco to Ollantaytambo. It’s a full day, but very doable if you’re tight on time.
